Wow is all I can say!

Planet Audio AC1800 5 Five Channel Amplifier

Planet Audio AC1800 5 Five Channel Amplifier

I've been into car audio for about 25 years, and I've owned a little bit everything. From top of the line stuff, to no name junk, I've tried it all. I've had this amp in my car for about a week now and my gosh am I impressed. I have it running two JBL 6.5's two JBL 6x9's and two JL 10W1V2's. It absolutely SCREAMS! There is plenty of find tuning that can be done right on board the amp and it puts out more than enough power. I don't know if it pushes what it claims, most amps don't, but it puts out more than enough to piss off your neighbors or the cars in front or behind you. The only thing I can't comment on is the amps longevity because like I said I've only had it for 1 week. I don't write reviews very often but felt inclined in this case to let people who are trying to build a budget car stereo know, this amp is a fine place to start.

  1. I have been into car audio for about 22 yrs not professionally but for myself and quality listening. I was a little worried about this amp for the price. So here it goes I hooked it all up and wow this amp is amazing not good or great but amazing. If you want 1 amp to run your whole system here it is. I have a kicker L3 12 running at 4ohms for the sub.
In the back deck 2 6x9 powerbass coax, in the front doors 6 3/4 powerbass components and two tweeters. I am only using the front 2 channels and the 5th channel for the subs it is shredding all of them. I seen reviews about the terminals and its not 1800 watts well here is the skinny on that. I was able to hook it up very easily no jimmy engineering to anything. It is a 5 channel amp 300 on each channel 4x300= 1200, 1 rear channel 600 watts so we are at
1800 watts. So with that said I don't know if this is exact watts but it pushes very hard.If you would like to buy a good amp here it is.If your are in car audio competitions then you know that you can't go cheap so don't try. For the everyday ride or drive to and from work this is a stellar deal.So I hope this helps a lot of you guys that are looking to purchase a good quality amp for your whole system.

  2. This amp rocks. I put it in my Mazda 6 to push 4 Infinity door speakers and a Sony sub. Plenty of power. You only need 1 amp with this monster.

  3. I have this amp for all my highs and 1 10inch sub. It pushes them all great for plenty of sound in my Chevy Aveo. This amp is a steal for the price and performance.

  4. --2011 Ford Escape--
    First off, my setup included:
    Kenwood Excelon 890HD
    This Amp
    Raptor (1 Farad) Capacitor
Kenwood KFCXW800F (8" subwoofer to replace the OEM 8" woofer)
Front Speaker: Infinity Reference 6830cs (Component system - tweeters installed at top corners of door, closest to the front windshield)
    Rear Speakers: Infinity Reference 6832cf
4Guage Wiring kit (WIRING DIAGRAM: battery>fuse>CAP 12v> AMP 12v --Cap and Amp individually grounded)

The amp is fantastic. It has the ability for any type of system configuration. You can use one RCA input or all 3 and it works fantastically. For the fine-tuning, the normal fine tunings are all there. The added subwoofer control is nice, but i left it in the cargo area (keep my car looking as stock as possible) I shielded all the cables coming into the cargo area and added some LED lights for night-time tweaks. There was, however, a CONSIDERABLE amount of noise. I attribute this to routing the power/audio cables on the same side (I know bad, but that was the best way i could have). Anywho, it has a 'sensitivity' toggle (from mV to V). Most noise is from 200mV to 1.5V, so toggling the switch to the higher voltage sensitivity fixed the noise altogether. This does decrease the high-end volume of the speakers, but nothing cranking the output cant handle if you need to. I cant add pictures to this review, so i cant help it that area, but if anyone needs any advice, feel free to comment!

  5. I was looking for a good 5-channel amp that had quality, clean power, looked good (not like something out of an Alien movie) and was easy on price - thus comes about the Planet Audio AC1800.5 This amp has perfect power, very easy to install (not sure what other reviewer had problems with) and overall just looks and works great! The connections are simple and easy to access. All inputs are on the left and outputs on the right. Good crossover adjustments and bass adjustments on the 5th channel. Depending on how and where you mount it, you might want to make all your adjustments before mounting and placing the end cap on - otherwise it's difficult to see the adjustment knobs and levels.

  9. We read many reviews and researched quite a few amplifiers. We really wanted one amp that could power our highs and a sub (didn't want to run two separate amps), which this 5-channel amp can do perfect. This amp really boosted our sound on our boat and powers our marine grade bazooka sub with no problem. It was an easy install and produces clean sound. We recommend this amp!
