Perfect item, tiny expense

Auxiliary Cable Cord iPhone Stereo

Auxiliary Cable Cord iPhone Stereo

I have been wanting to listen to my iPod in my car for a long time. I had an FM transmitter before. Those work great in rural areas but are useless in the city (you can never find a clear channel).

This product lets me play my iPod directly through my car stereo AND it charges it! My "iPod" is actually an iPhone 3G.

The sound quality is a little strange... I haven't figured out what it is yet. It seems to have slightly different qualities than the radio. It is not bad, just different. Most people probably wouldn't notice.

Anyway.. if you are just looking for a quick and (relatively) cheap way to play an iPod through your car radio, this is a good option. It does not really provide "integration" in the sense that you cannot control the iPod through the car stereo. That was okay for me, I just wanted the music to come through my car speakers. And now it does.

The only issue I had during installation was that it said to access the iPod I needed to hit "CD" on my car stereo twice. This did nothing. However, hitting "AUX" on my car stereo gave me the iPod output. This is better in my opinion anyway, so I was glad that there was this error in the install instructions!

I installed this in a 2007 Honda Fit (actually, Best Buy installed it for $50... it was hard to get access to the back of my stereo, so I let them do it).

  1. i need a dock for my iphone 4s. i want good quality sound with decent bass. The louder the better, i would prefer a wireless one however i would still buy a wired one if it was good enough. I'm not too bothered how it looks or what brand it is, just as long as its loud enough for the neighbours. i will spend up to £300 any ideas :D thanks

  5. I have a 2012 Chevy cruze with Bluetooth. My iphone 4s will connect to it fine, and my calls come through perfectly fine and all that, but my music won't play through the speakers without being plugged in to the USB port. Is there anyway I can get it to play via Bluetooth, or do I need to get a new stero system for my car or what? Because its so annoying trying to keep a USB cord in my car and I hate having it hanging out of the console (where the plug in is). My papaw has a Buick Verona with Bluetooth and the touch screen stereo system thing and my phone will connect and play music fine. Mine isn't a touch screen or anything. Just a normal stereo. Is their anyway I can have the touchscreen stereo system installed in my car?
