Beats the alternative!

CrazyOnDigital Range Transmitter Charger Microsoft

First let me start by saying I have tried a couple of these type of devices in the past, form big brand name manufacturers, that cost at least four to five times as much, and I was disappointed to say the least. I wound up returning them in disgust.
I own a 2007 Honda Accord EX, which otherwise I love, except for the limitations on the sound system.
Although I have the "Premium" JBL sound system, my stereo will not play MP3 CDs, nor does it have an aux port input like other cars.
So when I saw this device that would allow my to play my Zune HD in my car, and that it was highly rated for only ten dollars, I was skeptical to say the least, but I figured it was worth a shot.
First off, let me say that you will not be disappointed. When I first received this product and I saw the inexpensive packaging and "Chinglish" (Chinese-English)instructions, I did not have high expectations.
When I actually used it, I was surprised. This product WORKS!!! It allows you to tune to any frequency in the FM band, in 0.1 MHz increments. I say this, because some manufacturers have only a handful of presets that you can use (typically 3 - 5).
It even comes with a little remote control (cheesy looking, but it works) that lets you preset to a number of different frequencies.
So if you are looking for an inexpensive method to play your Zune HD in your Honda, this is it.

One last comment. The lower jaws that hold the Zune HD player are adjustable. At first I thought they sent the wrong product because my Zune HD would not fit. It was after fiddling with it that I realized that the cradle is adjustable. So please note before you make the same error.

Happy listening.

  1. it's a great transmitter. just amazing for the price.
in fact, it's the best transmitter i've ever used, and it beat my $50 one hands down. anywhere, the signal goes through on even the strongest stations. and i never hear static. i've been using it for a week, and i'm amazed.

the only thing i don't like is that the holder may or may not fit into some car's cigarette lighters. the male end is at the tip of a plastic shaft, not a cord, so in my car [toyota matrix] it makes it impossible to shift into 1st and hard to shift into 3rd. i bought a 12v extension cord, and that solved the problem. a messy solution maybe, but for a total of $20 altogether, the transmitter can't be beat.

do it. listen to music in your car. be happy.

  2. i was looking for a FM transmitter for my new zune hd. i first purchased a diff one, but when i found this on on amazon, i immediately returnted that one to the store and purchased this one. this one is so easy and simple to set up and use. it holds my mp3 in a little cradle like a newborn, so i have the comfort of mind, that it will be well protected and sheltered during the car ride. the sound that emits is very clear and there is no static. i really like it and would reccomend it to everyone

  3. There were two little quirks I noticed when I first plugged this in.
First, when scrolling through the stations, some of the LCDs flicker a lot so it's not easy to tell if you're on 88.5 or 88.8, but that's not a big deal and may not be the case for every one of them.
Second, I cranked my Zune HD 16GB all the way up to 30 and had to turn the radio up to about 80% to even hear a whisper! But, and this is why I call it a quirk, after a couple minutes, I had the radio volume back down to about 20% and it was still loud enough to hear clearly in the middle of traffic. So if you have a similar problem, don't yank it out, scream at it, and send it back...give it a couple minutes to see if it has the same quirk mine does.

Once everything was working well, I tried it out on several stations spanning the FM frequencies. Every station I tried sounded great, even if it was a frequency I know has a local radio station. There was little if any bleed-through by the broadcast station and on channels where there was no competition, the sound was crystal clear. If I had to choose, I'd say the sound is slightly better in the lower FM frequencies, but any clear frequency will do.

I really like the adjustments you can make to the angle of the holder. A fairly easy to reach and turn knob lets you loosen and tighten the hinge so you can set the Zune to the angle you like best, then lock it down so you don't have to worry about it flopping all over the place when you go around a sharp corner. The holder is adjustable and holds the Zune quite firmly. It can be a little tight putting the line-out jack and charger on the Zune if you press the bottom into the holder too far, so it's best to hook those up and then put it in the holder.

There is one thing that bothers me: there is no documentation at all about the remote! There are four buttons (I was hoping for some kind of volume control from a couple of them) but only two seems to work, used to change the transmitter frequency up and down.

This is not just a great Zune HD accessory for the price...this is a great Zune HD accessory! I cannot imaging any of the transmitters costing 5 times as much (or more!) could give any better sound than this does. The remote is convenient for me since I have radio controls on the steering wheel, I can use the remote and my radio controls to find a clear station without ever having to lean over and adjust things (I think this is much safer, but that's just my opinion).

  4. Just got mine in the mail last week and it is awesome! I drive an '07 Focus and this thing works like a charm with my Zune 16BG HD, the sound quality is great. Really haven't touched the remote but it's not a big deal. The only thing you gotta worry about when you get it are the clamps that hold your music player, it takes a few minutes to get them to budge so you can adjust them but other than that, I still give this this a 5-star rating.

I was a little skeptical when I saw the price until I read the reviews. I feel like I got waaayyyy more than what I paid for! After listening to an IPod with an FM transmitter, this thing rocks! VERY clear reception, every station available. Love the holder - in my 2005 Vibe, where the cigarette lighter jack is makes it really accessible to reach the touch screen without sacrificing safety. Holds the player very securely.

cons: wish it had better instructions for connection

  7. The Zune FM Transmitter is a fantastic Value. At first I had a hard time tuning into the recommended FM station but I experimented a little and now it sounds great. VERY happy

  8. I purchased this item a few weeks back and it works like a charm! For the price it can't be beat. There is very little to no noise from the FM station that you're tuning in to. Almost every station works in the FM frequency. Overall, this item deserves high praise! I'm using it with a 16GB Zune HD and it fits every need for the car. The charger works well. I think it charges the device faster in the car than the USB connect to the computer. Go ahead, don't waster your money on a lesser product that might cost 5x as much.

  9. I wasn't excited about spending the money on a transmitter and charger for my Zune until I ran upon this model. I figured, for the money, I'd give it a try. I'm glad I did.

The device was easy to install and figure out. I easily set it to a station that wasn't being used in my area (which is getting very hard to find). I found that I had to turn the volume up on my Zune higher than I expected for the sound quality to be good through on the radio. I used it in two different vehicles, both with equal success. The only minor critique is to be aware of the lighter/accessory outlet in relation to the shifter, especially for manual transmissions.

Overall, it worked great - easy to open packaging, easy to setup, and good sound quality.
