Exceeds expectations so far

SANOXY Transmitter Charger Holder iPhone

SANOXY Transmitter Charger Holder iPhone

I was kindda skeptical about an electronic item that's only $11. Plugged it in and it works just fine! Does what it needs to do. It only offers a very minimal amount of stations but the one I use with it works. There's a bit of static during a silent song change, but you can't hear it when a song is playing. I use my iphone and it does get VERY hot because of the foam backing. I cut a vertical striping through the middle of the foam to give it some ventilation but it still get's hot. So I cut the foam that I took off (quick and it was right there) cut it in little squares and placed them on the strips of foam that is still left on the transmitter. The phone now has about 1/2 inch space between it and the transmitter. Another problem I've encountered was the 12v socket for the transmitter. It was loose. I thought it was the rubber part of the transmitter was not working correctly, but after a minute of looking at it I realized that it wasn't the transmitter but the socket itself. I had to tighten it because the transmitter has a bit of a weight to it, so when you make a sudden turn the weight makes it fall. All I had to do was tighten the socket in the car and it fixed that problem.

Overall, the overheating is the only problem I've faced with this product.

  1. I ordered this FM transmitter for my iPhone 16GB 3G on a whim.. I had no really high expectations because of the low price, which is how I typically approach items like this.. It arrived rather quickly in a plain white box.. So, maybe they saved some money on packaging.. I immediately took the unit to my car, plugged it in, dropped the iPhone into the base and cranked it up.. I had some pretty bad static at first, but then while toying with the 3.5mm stereo cable that comes with it, found that you don't even need to use the stereo cable!! Once I ditched the 3.5mm cable, the sound was crisp and clear.. According to the instructions, there should be an LED on the actual lighter plug when the unit is plugged in and working, but mine doesn't work.. I couldn't care less about that, because the unit does exactly what it's supposed to do, and I no longer have to worry about burning CDs so I can jam while I'm zipping down I-95 at 95mph.. Heheh.. The adjustable arm holds its position pretty well, which is a major plus.. I've seen similar units go for a LOT more than this one, and honestly, I have no idea how they could be any better.. The best part is that not only does this thing allow you to use your iPhone/iPod through your car stereo, it also charges you iPhone/iPod while you're it's all hooked up.. One thing I did to make sure I didn't receive any interference from local radio stations was to just take the antenna off of my car..

  2. Let me start by saying that it's my 4th transmitter. This one is by far the best I owned.

Design: In the Amazon pictures it looks really cheap looking but actually is not bad at all. I love the fact you can twist and set it to your convenience. It really secures my device.

Features: I read some reviews here about the transmitter resetting to a different station everytime your turn on your car. well, mine it always stays in my station. the remote control is a plus even tho it looks really cheap but i dont really use it I dont really care.

Sound Quality: the BEST so far I set it up to 88.7 and get CD quality sound from my Droid 1 or my iPod touch 1G.

I buy it before it runs out.. Im not kidding buy it you wont regret it ...

  3. Worth the money, the only problem i had with initially buying it was that the lighting came as orange and black (looks like low quality to me) which i really didn't want, but with so many positive reviews (well actually there is like 4 but there all good) and an outstandingly low price, i gave in and bought it (only $11.34). To my surprise, (shipped incredibly fast), that the lighting was blue which really made me happy because that was what i was originally looking for. First I had a issue with the connection when i was tuning(12V car jack being loose), i just took it out and PUSHED IT IN WITH MORE FORCE then the connection finally was stable (must be due to the rubber stopper they put on the jack to keep it from twisting). The goose neck is very firm and works very well. The clamp keeps the iPhone 3G very still and the ipod dock connector has the locking clips so don't forget to push the sides when unhooking. The quality is better than radio, but not as good as CD. Remote actually worked pretty well for me. I drive a Honda Pilot and it is very stable. If your looking to play your music and want decent sound, buy it. I have no regrets of the purchase.

PS i like to add that people who are having trouble with the connection to push it in ALL the way. It should be stable and be a clear signal. For best connection find the most static filled station you can find and chose that one.

  4. I bought this for my iPod touch 4g and at the end of the day this is a great transmitter. The clamps secure my iPod very snug like and although the outlet may come loose sometimes because of bumps while im driving it doesn't come loose often at all only when i hit major bumps. Some people complain about the channel preset resetting when turned off i personally don't have this problem the original channel is 88.1 and i have mine set to 88.3 and that's what its on when i turn it on. The sound quality on this device is purely amazing much better than the griffin transmitter i previously used , for me there is literally no static the only thing is sometimes while im driving my iPod will move around and make the music cut out a little this just requires a little adjustment on my part no big deal. Really my only gripe was the remote that's with it you either have to have the thing pointed directly pointed at the transmitter or it just doesn't work and you have to fight with it so i just don't use it other than that couldn't be happier

  5. I bought this to replace my Griffin iTrip after it shorted out. I was worried about buying a different brand (or a non-brand, as a case seems to be), since the Griffin is able to be set to international frequencies (and I was never able to receive a clear signal without setting it below 88.1).

So far, however, the signal has been A LOT clearer at 88.1 than it ever was on my old transmitter. I live in Phoenix and I've had no trouble with signal interruptions so far; I even get a clear sound in parking garages and around strongly broadcast signals, like in shopping center parking lots. The sound quality is also pretty decent for an FM transmitter, especially one that cost less than $20 to buy and ship. I also love the cradle and the flexible neck that allows me to dock my iPod within easy reach.

The remote seems to be a bust, but I don't really care as I can't see a reason to use a remote when my iPod is docked right in front of me. Your mileage may vary, I suppose. And for all I know this might short out in a few months just like my Griffin did, but I'm holding out hope!

  6. A great product. My other adapter was stolen and I didn't want to miss my favorite tunes so I purchased this to replace it. Wow! This is much better anyway. Easy to use, even includes a remote if that is important to you. Stays on station, doesn't drift like my previous one. i love it!

  7. Over the years I've been through about 15 FM transmitters. This one is by far the best quality I've had. You may hear a little high pitched noise at high volumes, but that is a small price to pay for the amazing amount of clarity provided. The remote control is pretty flimsy and has to be held almost directly next to it to work but that's not the reason I purchased it so I was hardly disappointed. I really don't think you'll find a better product on the market.

  8. I was a little hesitant with some of the bad reviews that I read, but I read so many good reviews that I decided to buy this product.
As soon as I got it, I tried it out in my Kia Optima 2004 and it works GREAT! I love it and I told myself I would write a review so that people like myself wouldn't be so hesitant when buying such a great product for a great price.

  9. I have had ALL types of transmitters- I live in the middle of no where in Montana, and I pick up NO stations with my truck, so this is a must. This thing is beautiful, and works better than I ever thought it would. I drive on a lot of bumpy roads, and it holds up great. Sound quality is GREAT. Even when I drive into town, very little static. I have a iPhone 4S and it works great with it. Only bad part- the headphone cable didn't work very well- in fact, I thought my right speaker was blown out until I realized that it was the cable. I had plenty of headphone cords, so no big deal, but just be aware if the sound isn't coming out of one speaker, it's probably the cheap cable.....
