Excellent product Mach Speed 8 GB Trio MP3/MP4 Media Player with 4.3-Inch HD Touch Screen - Silver/Black (Trio-T4300HD)

Mach Speed Trio T4300HD Player Silver

Mach Speed Trio T4300HD Player Silver

Bought this at the Base AFEES store for $59 on sale. Played with it all night loading CD's (MP3 format), videos and photos on it. Love the big touch screen, music sounds great coming out of my personal earbuds (The ones that came with it are not so hot) and the built in equalizer is responsive. Videos play well and photos look awesome on it. I enjoyed ripping the CD's into Windows Media Player and then simply dragging them over and Sync'ing the player with it. Videos, photos and book files (it has a little book reader as well) are all drag and drop through Explorer just like using a thumbdrive. All in all I think it was a steal for what I pair for it!

But.....I cannot utilize my Rhapsody account with it because it does not support the license agreements. While not a major drawback, I still like to drag a new song off Rhapsody occasionally. Only way Rhapsody will load it is if you purchase each song individually. Not likely on my budget.

Overall a great price, fun little gadget and positive experience. With 30 videos, 100 photos and more than 40 albums on it already, I have only utilized 1.7GB of the 8GB available. Comes with other little installed options as well like a calculator, recorder, FM radio (works fine with earbuds), clock, calendar (which cannot be modified to useas an appointment scheduler) and stopwatch.

  1. I took a chance when I saw this one on sale for 59.99 at Fry's. I'm glad I did. Having trouble with a Viewsonic, a Nextar and lately with a Coby. I was able to transfer and play all my unprotected music and video from my Itune and Window media just by drag and drop. It would be great if the box comes with a wall power adapter. In short this is a good buy because I have wasted countless hours trying to transfer music and video from my Mac mini and Gateway to the above mentioned players.

  2. This is quite a good little mp3 player, i use it for videos and pics mostly and it serves me quite well. The screen is big, bright and colors are good. Hooked it up to my tv via hdmi cable and all worked as stated. Does not come with a video converter program but their are plenty of programs to be downloaded via the web so no issues there. It is picky about the type of video it will play but for the price I paid I can overlook that aspect. The speaker on it is ok, not the greatest but I did not expect to be and I use either headphones or an external speaker and have no problems with the sound. Holds a charge well and can easily watch a full movie on it with a single charge. Only thing I wish it came with was a case, as I have not been able to find one for it yet. All in all this is a very capable little player with a large screen and good picture and well worth the little money spent on it!

  5. I just started using this product recently. It is really one of the best mp3/mp4 products that I have found and I have done a bit of research finding out what works.

    Great points:
    1. Radio works well. Note, the radio works only with headphones plugged in, otherwise the reception is poor. Mp3's sound great.
    2. Video works like a charm. Loading them into the device is really easy.
    3. Comes with an HDMI cable, allowing you to plug it into your HD T.V. This also works really easily, no configuring at all required. Even comes with a remote to allow you to control the device while you have it plugged into the T.V. (remote can be finicky, but this is not a huge deal).

    Negative points:
    1. My device emits a high pitched sound. It doesn't seem to be effecting anything through.
    2. Sometimes it can be difficult to scroll through menu items because of the responsiveness of the touch screen.
    3. The e-reader has limited functionality, it only accepts very few file types (however this is not why I bought the device, so this point has little weight to me)
    4. Sometimes my custom settings automatically reset.

The positive points completely outweigh the negative points. I cannot comment on the durability as I only received the device recently. I would definitely recommend this product.

  6. I will try not to drag this review out to long. I purchased this unit at Micro Center for $69.99 with a $10.00 off rebate.
This was more of a impulse purchase. When I got home I decided to read the Amazon reviews of the good, bad, and the ugly. Upon being satisfied that it wasn't a horrible purchase I open the package and started the charging. It took about an hour to charge.
The first thing I noticed was the Sturdy construction, which in turn makes it feel a bit heavy. Good. After using the enclosed earbuds, I thought my purchase went to the ugly end of the spectrum. However after another trip to Micro Center I bought a set of JVC HA-FXC51-B Micro High Definition earbuds for $39.99. WOW! What a difference! The sound quality was terrific. The onboard EQ could change the sound instantly as I scrolled through the preset music types. There is even a user EQ setting to change to your own taste.
After fiddling with the Trio for about an hour I was overcoming the obstacles many are experiencing. Let me give you some pointers. I have messed around with my daughters Ipod touch and I must say Trio is slighltly different. The screen is super touchy on the Trio, however if you keep slight pressure on the screen it won't blip into the icon that you happen to start your touch on. For instance, on the home screen if you place your finger on the right icon and slide left it will scroll left. The Ipod touch will allow you to tap and flick to scroll. This one must keep pressure until the sliding starts and then lift your finger. This also works on the music list too. It is easy to find the song you want as long as you touch, slide and lift. Don't tap unless you want to select.
Moving on. Many complaints involve the screen being tapped and songs changing during a ride in a pocket. There is a screen lock in the settings/system settings/key lock time. I set mine to 10 seconds. After ten seconds you slide a lever on the screen to unlock. My beef with that is it still allows the little bubble noise when the screen is touched even when the screen is locked. Bad.
I've loaded several music videos and tons of music. I have not had a sync problem yet. One of the preloaded videos Shawna Russel video was out of sync by a couple seconds.
Trio allows you to use your favorite pictures as the desktop which is cool.
I also used a psp screen saver on it and it doesn't affect the operation. If anything it is slightly less sensitive. Good.
I only bought this for the mp3 and the touch screen for use while driving to make it easier to read. so as far as the other fuctions go I can't comment. If you take the time to explore the Trio, I think many problems with it can be overcome by the user.
This is not an Ipod touch. For my $60 compared to $200, I think I can live with the quirks and limitations.
    My overall impression is Great!

Pros: Big touch screen, Great quality sound, Low price, Sturdy construction, Many features to tweek.

Cons: Crummy earbuds, Not as many features as an Ipod Touch to tweek, Cute bubble sounds gets annoying.
