Sony CDXGT660UP Receiver Pandora Link
I bought this unit at my local walmart and I havr to say, it is well worth it. It was also cheaper for me to go that route then to buy on here. The color display and change of color is awesome. It sounds awesome in my car 05 dodge stratus with stock speakers. When turned up all the way the speakers distort but that's my next upgrade. Comes with a remote which I don't think is mentioned on here and also isn't android friendly but with a auxiliary cable for your phone the pandora works great and so does calling someone its like having a bluetooth stereo without the extra cost. It will play and do anything through auxiliary cable which is only a few dollars so I would suggest going that direction if you have a Droid phone. I really enjoy it and would recommend to anyone looking at this unit. I'm listening to it as I write this sitting outside of amazon.com warehouse (my job) waiting for my wife who also works for amazon :) this is her husband by the way lol

Very nice stereo unit for the price!! No complaints except when using USB with an iPhone, song selection must be done from the deck! Easy to deal with tho

BalasHapusI really do love this head unit, loaded with features, multiple colors to match factory scheme, and flawless execution. Pandora works amazingly well as well as the Iphone 4s.
BalasHapusExcellent quality product with clear installation instructions. It would be helpful to have a factory wiring diagram for your vehicle so that you know which wires go where.

BalasHapusThe XLE has the JBL premium sound system but after 12 years the 6 disc CD player
croaked and had to be replaced.
The Sony sounds fantastic with the JBL speakers.
And the deck has a dimmer that can be turned down when the headlights go on.
The dimmer is a big deal because alot of the car stereo makers are putting
overly bright colored lights in the units now and at night its a distraction.
I tried a Pioneer before the Sony and the damn thing lit up like a pinball machine
and you cant turn the lights down so I took it back and got the Sony.
It also comes with a remote control so your not taking your eyes off the road
to push buttons.
I purchased this cd player to replace my Pioneer in my truck. The ipod dock and auxiliary port eventually quit working and was one of the cheaper made units, so it was time for an upgrade. The Sony has many different options and features, especially for getting the desired sound out of my subwoofers. Sound quality is awesome with all options(ipod, aux, cd, radio) all are very clear and crisp. I am very happy with this purchase.

BalasHapusI always bought Sonys then tried pioneer because of XM radio and now thankfully am back! I will never buy a Pioneer again. Before this I owned one of the newest Pioneers, it cost twice as much as this and flat out sucked. Pioneer head units are beyond complicated - for no reason! Same features just uselessly complex and not intuitive at all.

This is huge. My pioneer used the head unit. It took forever to find my songs, my playlists, etc. and at 70mph I don't need to be looking down for too long. With this Sony you can put it on passenger control mode and control the iPod using the iPod. As easily as you select a song on your iPod is how easy it will work! This was why I bought this Sony, nobody else I found lets you do this and trust me this is the reason to buy a Sony.
If you love Pandora and Ipods - you live by them and use them daily, this is the head unit for you and the price can't be beat. If you have something other than an iPhone be careful though. You will need one of the other new Sonys. I chose this one because I have an iPhone and I wanted the newer SiriusXM tuner - the universal tuner. Sony does make a head unit that has pandora for blackberrys, androids, and iPhones but it uses the old satellite tuners. Not a big deal, but the universal tuner is a lot smaller and will work with any head unit in the future. The old tuners are brand specific. You need the Sony for a Sony, Pioneer for a pioneer, etc. and they cost twice what this new tuner costs.
I can't recommend this head unit any more, I am amazed at it's simplicity and ease of use. Sony's passenger control mode for the iPod is beyond brilliant. I now love to drive and listen to my iPod again. The value can't be beat either.
I am using this as my sound system in the living area on a cruising sailboat. The antenna is 60 ft in the air, and I get great reception on FM. I had some problems wiring the power, because I do not like to have anything directly connected to the battery, even with a fuse, and if you do not connect the direct to battery line, just the switched power, it does not work. It is superior to the Kenwood that I replaced.
