First let me say that I almost never review products. However I was so pleased with this unit I felt it necessary to write something. Prior to installing this unit I had gone thru TWO Boss Audio 8" powered subs in about 3 days. The first one lasted about 2 minutes and went into protect mode and that was it. I though, ok maybe I just got a bad unit, so I sent it back and got my second one a couple days later. (Amazon service was great). I quickly wired up the second unit and it was working fine for about 2 days, then it just quit. Strike two, there was no way I was going to buy ANYTHING with the name BOSS Audio on it again. After a little searching I found this unit. I have a 2009 Ford F150 super cab and was just looking for something to give me a little extra low end thump and didn't have a lot of room to play with.(it fit perfect under the rear seat) I'm using the factory radio cuz it has Sirius, but I put a pair of Boston Acoustic speakers in front and it made a HUGE difference. Yet it was still missing that low end thump that I was used to from having a factory sub in my prior truck. As others have said, this will not blow your windows out, but in my opinion it does a great job. My friends couldn't believe the difference in sound with this unit hooked up. I especially LOVE the remote control. I listen to mostly Classic Rock from the late 60's and early heavy metal like Black Sabbath. The phase control on the remote is AWESOME. Depending on the song, the phase needs to be adjusted quite a bit sometimes. If you have a sub without a remote you would always be pulling over to adjust the phase level because one setting is not going to be optimal for all songs. I payed about $120 for this unit and it is worth every penny. Also, it was easy to wire and comes with a good quality wiring kit. My friend is going to go buy 2 for his car he liked mine so much.

Gorgeous head unit with really bright lighting and tons of features

I'd been hunting for a car stereo head for quite some time to replace my factory unit in my 2008 Pontiac Vibe. I wanted iPhone compatibility most of all, and an auxiliary port for use by friends with non-iPhones. I couldn't resist the price of this unit, and (BONUS!) it also has Bluetooth capabilities! Well, I got what I was looking for and I couldn't ask for more.

Now, I get in my car a little sooner than necessary, plug in my phone, and choose an album or playlist on Spotify (I rarely use iTunes nowadays), and use the arrows or the remote to navigate through tracks. I love that I can talk on the phone hands-free or activate Siri when necessary using the Bluetooth, and even make phone calls without touching my phone by utilizing the phone number presets. MixTrax is a pretty fun feature, especially with friends riding along, because of the flashing frequency/level-sensitive light show it offers.

The unit is a bit bright at night, but I default it to a dark blue so it's not as distracting, and I'm happy with it! Another minor annoyance is that when cycling through the sources, I run into Pandora (it is installed on my iPhone and have it plugged in via USB), and my phone will ask permission for usage of the Pandora app by the unit every time... it's only annoying because I don't want to use my limited data up on streaming radio. That's not too big a deal either way, and you may want to use Pandora yourself anyway.

Along with this unit, I had to purchase a harness and radio antenna adapter (both specific to the make/model of my car) to install, so be sure to add those to your cart before you place your order! And trust me, you should place your order! It's definitely worth the buy! :)

I've had this IMP 170 for my iPhone4 for some time now. It is amazing! The battery last all day for me. I surf the web. I text to friends and family, and I make calls from before sunrise till late at night. I never need to recharge my iPhone during that time. If I need to hook up to iTunes, I can do it with the case still on it. No need to remove the iPhone from the NewTrent case to recharge or sync with iTunes.
The fit and finsh are smooth and the design of the case makes the iPhone cradle in one's hands much as the previous iPhones do without a case or cover.
That's not much to using it, either. I charged the NewTrent IMP 170 by itself until it was fully charged (four solid blue lights), as well as my iPhone before using the case the first time. The case snaps apart and the iPhone smoothly slips in and attaches to the bottom portion. The top portion then slids over the top of the iPhone and snaps into place. That's it. All done.

I'm told that NewTrent put a newer type of battery in this latest model to give it longer life. It seems to be doing that job just fine.

Of course, each individual will have their own results with the NewTrent case. That's to be expected. But, I highly recommend this NewTrent case to any iPhone4 user.

Kicker DS65 Coax Speakers Pair

These speakers have great sound quality, are easy to install and would be a great addition to just about any car audio system.

My Speakers are still functioning as well as they were the day I installed them. Clear, crisp sound at extreme volumes.
I'm editing my review to add a bit more information on my experiences with these speakers. A friend of mine bought these speakers the same time I did. He had the worst luck with the speakers crackling at low volume, and horrible distortion at high volume. So upon calling me, and professing quite loudly that the speakers were bad we started to troubleshoot. After a few short minutes I found the problems. There was nothing wrong with the speakers they worked perfectly. There were two problems causing the noises he experienced. 1: He had cracked insulation on his speaker wires in the door panel leading to the speakers. This was causing the speakers to short out, and make noise while they were on. 2: His stereo unit itself was installed improperly(quite a bit of craziness going on there). After a Quick fixing of these two problems his speakers sound clear and crisp as good quality new speakers should.

In conclusion, as easy as these speakers are to install it pays to do a bit of preventative checking on the setup you are installing them into to help avoid any potential problems.

Planet Audio AC1800 5 Five Channel Amplifier

I've been into car audio for about 25 years, and I've owned a little bit everything. From top of the line stuff, to no name junk, I've tried it all. I've had this amp in my car for about a week now and my gosh am I impressed. I have it running two JBL 6.5's two JBL 6x9's and two JL 10W1V2's. It absolutely SCREAMS! There is plenty of find tuning that can be done right on board the amp and it puts out more than enough power. I don't know if it pushes what it claims, most amps don't, but it puts out more than enough to piss off your neighbors or the cars in front or behind you. The only thing I can't comment on is the amps longevity because like I said I've only had it for 1 week. I don't write reviews very often but felt inclined in this case to let people who are trying to build a budget car stereo know, this amp is a fine place to start.
